Business Address Requirements

What kind of addresses are accepted?

We require a physical South African business address.

Accepted document types

The following document types are accepted:

  1. Bank statement

  2. Official SARS document (excluding eFiling documentation)

  3. Telephone or cellular telephone statement

  4. Signed letter from an auditor or accountant, on their company letterhead

  5. Current and active lease or rental agreement

  6. Municipal councillor's letter

  7. Active insurance policy document issued by a Financial Services Provider

  8. Motor vehicle registration or licence document

  9. Letter from the municipality confirming the business address

  10. Television licence renewal or confirmation letter

  11. Property loan statement

  12. A sworn affidavit obtained at a police station stating the business address

Document requirements

The above document must:

  • clearly show the company's legal name and address

  • be dated within the last 3 months

Exception 1: Newly incorporated

If the company (i.e. Pty ltd.) is incorporated within the last 3 months and the business address matches the director's personal address, we can accept a signed self-declaration. Here is an example you can use: Business PoA Self-declaration

Exception 2: Co-working spaces

If the company (i.e. Pty ltd.) is incorporated within the last 3 months and is operating from a co-working space, where the director's personal name appears on the invoice (rather than the company's), we can accept :

  • The co-working space invoice, issued in the director's name (less than 3 months old), together with a signed Business PoA Self-declaration confirming the company operates from the stated co-working space address.

Which documents are not accepted?

  • Regular invoices (subscriptions, service providers)

  • SARB Notice of Registration

  • Documents dated more than 3 months ago
